Moving up
the ladder
Goal, Strategy,
Plan, Action (GSPA)
Each year should
be better than the last. Theoretically anyway. Who knows what pleasures
we will experience, or what traumas. You know life has its ups and
downs. If things were always plain sailing we would get rather bored
anyway. Look out for challenges, and meet them head on with gusto.
At the beginning
of every year, we always back over the past, and resolve to do better.
Especially as you get older. We are all day-dreaming about what
we would like to achieve over the next 12 months. I say to you today,
that the great idea which is in the back of your head needs
to happen this year.
Here is an exercise
for you.
A. List the
top 10 great things which happened to you last year.
B. List the
worse negative things which happened to you personally last year.
Which list was easier to write?
C, List the
top things you would like to do or achieve this year.
Now for each
of those areas listed in C, plan a strategy as to how you can realistically
achieve these.
Make sure you have the right people around you to help make things
happen.
Develop the right mindset to persist until success arrives.
Believe. If you have faith, that is half the battle over.
It really is
not rocket science. Baby steps are required to eventually get to
the big man steps.
Good Luck

----------------------------
There are some
interesting things which happened last year.
Elections in
Zambia saw Michael Sata, a former British Rail station porter, peacefully
sweep the ruling party out of power after 20 years. Yes a change
of Government in an African country can happen without bloodshed
and angst.
These people
joined twitter last year, and we are now able to communicate with
them directly. These include - Pharrell Williams, Condoleezza Rice,
Samuel L. Jackson, Jacob G. Zuma, Nelson Mandela, Robin Roberts-
US Broadcaster and Dr. Willy Mutunga who opened African courts to
direct communication with Twitter. Do you think we can we tap them
for guidance into how to make it? Or have they pulled the ladder
up?
Twitter is powerful.
Why not use it to promote your work, philosophy or business. Can
you get people to tweet by the second.
At its peak, there were 5,106 tweets per second on MAY 2, 2011 about
the Raid on Osama bin Laden
At its peak, there were 6,436 tweets per second on JUN 27, 2011
about the BET Awards
At its peak, there were 5,531 tweets per second on JUN 13, 2011
about the NBA Finals
You can imagine
what was going on with facebook and BBM around the same time. Multiply
by 5.
Hurrah for President
Obama - showing "who's the man". Osama Bin Laden's death
at the hands of US forces was ordered, implemented, then announced
by President Barack Obama. Bin Laden is believed to have ordered
the attacks on New York and Washington on 11 September 2001. Hurrah
also for the BBC as it was the third busiest day on the BBC News
website in 2011, with 11.7 million browsers.
Hurrah again
for the BBC. The shocking scenes of the riots across the UK, helped
make 9 August the largest day for traffic in the history of the
BBC News website, with just under 15.9 million browsers.

I came across an odd comment online recently. Someone sent a message
on a forum, saying that black people had never invented anything.
A wa de!!
What foolishness!
Yes, my blood temperature rose, but I am calm. Don't worry. Today
I happened upon the most comprehensive list of black inventors you
could ever hope to find. Not even bearing in mind the brilliant
music, sporting prowess, and creative talents which are plain for
all to see - there are numerous inventions which have come about
from the brains of black people, and even some white inventions
were originally from black people, but a white person stole the
idea - or beat the originator to the patent registration documents.
Here is the
link. http://inventors.about.com/od/blackinventors/a/Black_History.htm
Its an A to Z list - and that is just the page with A's
The extensive
list should be an encouragement to all. If you have a new idea -
patent it. Then ensure it makes money for you and your family for
generations to come. And please let the world know all about it.
Via, twitter, facebook, email and yes, via traditional media as
in newspapers, magazines, radio and TV.
So everybody,
lets move on up the ladder this year. I hear Will-I-am is going
to manufacture Cars branded "iamauto". Now that's what
I'm talking about.
