How NOT to waste Time
Twenty-five tips to achieving a more productive life.

  1. Seize the time

  2. The gift of life is an equal opportunity as no one gets more than 24 hours in a day.

  3. How many hours are spending watching TV daily? Is this time productive? UP

  4. How many hours per day do you spend wasting time on the Internet? Could half that time be spent starting a business? UP

  5. Plan your day. List 7 of the more important tasks, and make sure tasks 1, 2 and 3 get done first.

  6. Discourage interruptions
    The average worker has 50 interruptions a day, of which 70% have nothing to do with work.

  7. The toughest part of any task is just getting started.

  8. Get rid of clutter. If you haven't used it in one year, you did not miss it, so throw it out. It will save you time later on.

  9. If you don't have time to do the things you say you want to, you are saying they are not important enough to you to make the time.

  10. If you don't make time to see me, then I can assume, I am not important enough for you to make the time to see me. UP

  11. If you cannot take 3 minutes to call me, to see if I am ok, then I assume I am unimportant to you. UP

  12. If you call me your friend - be a friend. UP

  13. If you want me to be your friend - be a real friend. UP

  14. Multi-tasking just isn't all it's cracked up to be. Better to focus on one activity and get it done.

  15. Choose to be optimistic.

  16. Optimists accomplish more than pessimists.

  17. You need not always dot i's and cross t's. Some things don't need to be done perfectly, they just need to get done.

  18. ASAP. As soon as possible means immediately. Not when you get round to it. UP

  19. Give yourself less time for every task you want to accomplish. Then it will get done quicker.

  20. The amount of time needed to complete a task, expands to fit the time available.

  21. Ditch the lone ranger, and build a team. You will accomplish much more.

  22. Don't waste time talking about a problem to someone who can do absolutely nothing about it.

  23. Beware of chasing events that pop up during the day, and divert you from your plan for the day.

  24. Work like you are a machine. Take short breaks only to re-charge yourself, then get back to work.

  25. Link with people with Can-Do positive attitudes. If not you will be distracted/pulled down/prevented from progressing up the ladder.
